Description:
‘Feathered Thorns’ is a short independent movie shot on mini DV. It a wonderful tale about a young mute girl, Qiao Chan, who is a inspired artist. She has a rough relationship with her mom, Xiu Chan, who is a talented interior decorator. Her mom helps her daughter, who is a low self-esteem, sad individual, set up a meeting with a popular artist, Nhung Long, whom Qiao greatly admires. Nhung agrees to allow Qiao to stay with her for a week and teaches her about painting among other things. But what happens is a turn of events and everyone around Nhung and Qiao is effected by their unpredicatble, complex relationship.  

The movie is planned to be shot in early December 2008, for 7 days. The shooting locations are Soho and Brooklyn, NY. 

No pay and no transportation, BUT food will be provided as well as a Dvd copy when the movie is complete. After the movie is done it will be sent to various film festivals. 

The actress that want to play the roles of Qiao Chan and Nhung Long MUST KNOW HOW TO PAINT AND DRAW. 

Pure commitment and Dedication is required from everyone who jumps on board to bring this movie to life on the screen. 
It’s going to be fun!

Breakdown Description:
Nhung Long is a woman with many faces-she has mood swings, she’s honest, rude, compassionate, passinate about art, young men, the human face, she’s a vegetarian, loves solitude, a good joke, can be aggressive. Can be patient.  

Qiao Chan is shy, low self-esteem, doesn’t smile much, deep thinker, serious, expresses deep feelings through her art, expressive in her body language, and facial expressions. 

Xiu Chan. She’s Qiao’s mom, she’s not a good communicator with her daughter, she’s a very fast moving woman, can presuade people, into nice clothes, very clean, precise, focus, intelligent. Strong in many ways.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:
AICPC and Genesis Entertainment are casting for the stage play, “Two Cents, Too Many.”   

The play is set in the 1970’s in a black owned hair salon in rural Georgia over the period of one day. This day happens to be a big wedding day for everyone. In the 70’s it was not necessarily a good thing for a white woman to stop a black wedding to proclaim her love for the black groom. (Psst…he loves her too!) What might be even worse is if she stops off at a black hair salon to get advice from people who just love to give their “two cents” on everything!
 
CHARACTERS
     
VIVIAN T. ROSE (55-70 Female ) 
MISS ROSE: A 60-70 year-old African-American woman. She is an intelligent woman, with a tendency to say exactly what’s on her mind, yet she is beginning to show signs of forgetfulness.
   
REBECCA JONES (22-28 Female ) 
REBECCA JONES: Caucasian, slim 22-30 female. Well educated, but from the south.
   
MAYOR ROTHESBURY (45-60 Male ) 
MAYOR ROTHESBURY: Caucasian. Average to large build. Born and raised in the south. A southern politician who has been Mayor over the last 12 years.
   
MATTHEW (40-50 Male ) 
MATTHEW: Caucasian: Medium to Average build. 6’0 or taller. Rugged man / farmer from the south who has more common sense than book sense and loves his community.
